Depression is a silent killer and affects 350 million people worldwide. In fact, suicide is the leading cause of death for Australian men between 14 and 44 years. This morning we were privileged to meet with Terry Cornick, founder of Mr. Perfect Australia, who shared his own story dealing with mental health. Mr Perfect is an inclusive grassroots mental health support network for men.
Thanks for your sharing your story, Terry. Too many of us are touched by mental health issues in some way or another and don't realise we are not alone.

Meet the Member: Robert
Meet our very own Robert. Robert is a carpenter by profession. Robert left school at the age of 14, achieved a carpenter's apprenticeship and worked on many projects throughout his career, including the Sydney Strand Arcade rebuild after fire damage in the 1970’s. Robert also worked overseas, first in southern Thailand where he was offered a gun for protection, which he declined, and also in Hong Kong. Robert returned to Sydney and worked for himself for many years. He is now retired and generously lending his skills and sage advice to the Rotary Club of Manly.

Past President of Northbridge Rotary Club and lead volunteer at the National Maritime Museum gave a fantastic talk on the collision between the Melbourne and the Voyager.
"Although I have been a Rotarian for over 30 years I am still amazed by the commitment of my fellow Manly Rotarians to helping those in our community in need"
"Four years ago I felt the need to offer something to the community and people who needed support. I was so warmly welcomed by Manly Rotary Club members that I decided to join immediately. Since that time I have have been involved in numerous projects to help our community and travelled to Kenya as a volunteer at an Orphanage that had been founded by a lady school teacher Rotarian in Queensland. What a great experience it has been over the last four years! "
Fun and Rewarding
"Finding local young people for Rotary sponsored scholarships is both fun and rewarding. It is an investment in the future of Manly. And doing it as a team makes it even better."
"The Rotary Manly Fun Run & Walk is a community event that I have enjoyed as a participant for a number of years. I wanted to give back and so I joined the Rotary Club to be part of the team making this great community event happen. (We have a fabulous vision for the future of this run!) I enjoy that as a Club we focus on raising funds for our local community but we also support excellent international projects as well.
Get involved - You’ll be glad you did!"
