Showers

Installation of showers in homeless peoples community centre operated by the Salvation Army, Manly.

The Manly police identified the need for safe showers following assaults on homeless women. A space was enclosed under a stairwell and a new bathroom was constructed, including drainage, hot and cold water and a dressing space. The bathroom serves around ten people per day, with toiletries and clothes vouchers included.

Commercial Kitchen

Together with a State Government Grant and donation from the Club, an entirely new kitchen with commercial appliances was rebuilt and installed in the Salvation Army New Life Community Centre building in Manly.

The Manly Rotary team stripped the existing domestic kitchen and removed an existing wall to extend the kitchen area. In addition, the Manly Rotary volunteers repainted the surrounding areas. The then Manly Council kindly offered their assistance with fees, charges and certification.
